Are you Lonely PS3?

Hmmm….. The Sony style site has mysteriously made the 80GB PS3 Vanish! Could this be the PS3 Lite’s time to shine?

The site only lists the 40GB PS3. Unusual?

PSP Will burn you!

Full Story

A child was burned at Warner Middle School in Farmington Hills when the video game in his pants pocket caught on fire around 9 a.m. on Wednesday

Police said the fire burned a hole in his pants and Harold Clay, 12, suffered minor burns.”He said it wasn’t a gradual heat. It really started heating up. He’s always been taught, burn- fire- smoke, you drop and you roll. So, he was in his band class and he dropped and rolled,” said the victim’s mother Sheila Clay. Ironically, the name of the game that was inside the player was called Burn Out. The Parents say that the PSP was not ON. The Parent’s are contacting Sony on this.

PS3 Lite

Sony PS3 Lite from T3.com

Trawling the CES show last month, we happened across a rather juicy piece of gadget gossip.

According to a particularly well-informed insider, it seems that the Big S is prepping an all new PlayStation 3. The new incarnation is supposedly slimmer, lighter weight, and sexy as hell.

It’s not as if Sony haven’t got a history of making things slimmer and, er, lighter: The PSP shed a lot of its weight last summer, the original PlayStation ended up as the minuscule PSOne, and the PlayStation 2 re-incarnated as the PSTwo, which was an all-round sexier piece of kit to boot. Roll on PSThree?

Looking like the Wii right?>

PS3 makes a profit!

PS3 80GB RIP?

Engadget reports that new 120GB or 160GB model of the PS3 with DualShock 3 controller will be replacing the 80Gig version. According to an “inside source” — which Ars claims has been consistently right on video game-related predictions — the console-maker’s new plot is starting to take shape, holding fast to a two-SKU approach on packages, upping the hard drive capacity on systems. Spider-Man 3-inclusive system will disappear, only to be replaced with a 120GB or 160GB configuration. Hey! these are just rumors! ( I hope they come true!)

Skype for PSP postponed?

The plans have been disturbed…

Reason:

Sony’s microphone/speaker units failed to meet Skype certification standards.

CES 2008 | Sony | SE W760

Sit back and enjoy the ride, 3G fans, as Sony Ericsson has a new cell phone for you. The company’s W760, which it announced today at CES, is one of the first handsets to support wireless broadband networks around the globe. It offers support for three UMTS/HSDPA networks (850/900/2100), and as a quad-band world phone (GSM 850/900/1800/1900), it will make calls in most countries. The tri-band 3G support is especially welcome in the United States and Canada; the W760 is only Sony Ericsson’s second 3G handset specifically for North America after the Sony Ericsson Z750.

Other features include a Walkman music player with the shake control from the W580, stereo Bluetooth, e-mail and messaging, a speakerphone, USB mass storage, a Memory Stick Micro slot, personal organizer applications, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The slider handset is available in three colors: rocky silver, fiery red, and intense black.

CES 2008 | Sony | SE W350a (cheap walkman phone)

Most of Sony Ericsson’s tend to be on the pricey side but every now and then the company gives us a more affordable model for the masses. Last year it rolled out the W200a and at CES today the company announced the W350a. At 0.41 wide inches it sports a design we haven’t seen for a while. The keypad is covered by a flap that folds down when you’re on a call. The flap not only protects the keypad when not it’s not in use but also it allows you to get the feel of the a flip phone.

But the W350a’s design offers another quirk as well. Read the rest of this entry »
