MS dropping 20GB for 60GB

TrustedReviews is now reporting that the 20GB hard drive in the standard Xbox 360 model is about to get the boot in favor of a more spacious 60GB one. That apparently comes from a “rock solid source,” who says that they (Microsoft)want  it out the door by the end of its financial year, which comes at the end of June.

Also they go into a bit of speculation, saying that Microsoft is going to make” a model with a built-in Blu-ray drive would seem to be “the most logical conclusion,” although they say an external drive “makes sense too.” While that possibility obviously remains up in the air, TrustedReviews is about as confident as can be with the 60GB Xbox 360 news, saying that you can take it to the bank.

Look out people here comes the XBOX 720!

Crazy with Apple Stores

60 “iStores” will open across India

There’s a huge push in India right now by Reliance Digital to open 60 iStores across the nation’s top twenty cities. The iStores will sell Apple products exclusively, and carry the full line, from consumer products to pro hardware.
Expect to see all sixty stores up and running within the next 18 months. We wonder how the interior design will look, and if it will resemble official Apple Stores.

If you visit one of these stores, please let us know! We’ll be happy to share your photos and stories.

Thanks, Ravi!

Apple opened a new retail store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana — the state’s first — on Thursday. As usual, we asked any TUAW operatives who may have attended to share their reports and/or pictures. Reader frelix was kind enough to share some photos he uploaded to his Flickr account. Thanks! If you visited this store, too, let us know in the comments.

A new Apple Store?

clipped from

As many of our readers know, London is already host to the world’s largest Apple store (pictured above) on renowned shopping-mile Regent Street. However, Apple’s ambitions for the UK capital have yet to be fully realised according to a Macworld UK report today – for Apple is preparing to open another store just over a mile away in Covent Garden.

The new store is touted as being a 3-storey affair taking up around 25,000 square foot. The existing Regent Street store is approximately 28,000 square foot, and according to ifoAppleStore remains one of the best performing stores – clearly Apple thinks there’s plenty more custom to be snapped up and certainly TUAW visits to the flagship store have never been quiet affairs.

The Covent Garden store is apparently going to be located at 4 The Piazza, in a location currently taken by a restaurant and nightclub — it is of course too early to guess when the new store will indeed open.

Swiss iPhone with 3 icons?

Could this be true?

Yeah this is a photo of a Swiss ad for the iPhone which is rumored to be released on 4th April. What bugs me is the screen. It looks like these rumours:

Yep, it looks like the iPhone Nano. This has to be fake unless this is the trimmed down version of the iPhone (which is probably untrue).

iPhone nano?!!

Stick around to get future updates as they emerge.
